About Our School

Prairie Trail Elementary opened its doors in August of 2012, with a new addition completed in August of 2017.  Prairie Trail, which is able to house up to 800 elementary students, is part of the Ankeny High School south feeder system.

Prairie Trail Elementary staff is dedicated to providing a high quality education for all students. We strive to make our school a welcoming community for our students and families.

Our Mission

Prairie Trail Elementary provides a strong academic, social, and emotional educational experience for our students. We deliver a high quality curriculum using a wide variety of instructional strategies. Staff members at Prairie Trail collaborate to ensure endless possibilities for all students.
